Department Of Registrar for non-Governmental Organisations
The Department of Registrar for Non-Governmental Organizations (DRNGOs) was established in 2011, and is one of the bodies created under the Non-Governmental Act No. 16 of 2009 which was enacted in August, 2009. The NGO Act provide for the coordination and registration of NGOs operating in Zambia. The Department was created for the purpose of operationalization and enforcement of the NGO Act and enforce it. In doing so, the department works with other bodies created under the NGO Act such as the NGO Registration Board and the Council of NGOs.
The Non-Governmental Organizations’ Registration Board was appointed in 2013 while the Council of Non-Governmental Organizations was constituted at a Congress for NGOs which was held in December 2012. The Department commenced registration of both local and International Non-Governmental Organizations in 2013 after the appointment of the Board by the Honorable Minister.
To provide for Registration and Co-ordination of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) for enhancement of Transparency, Accountability and Performance of NGOs in Contributing to National Development.
STRUCTURE OF THE DEPARTMENT
The Department is divided into four distinct Units/Sections namely;

c. Standards/Inspections Unit
d. Documentation Unit
